Our Story
The Esther Network grew out of an acknowledgement. An acknowledgement of the hard choices born out of necessity to survive. To the women challenged by the in between, forgotten and dismissed, figuring it out on their own because they had no other choice. A revelation that with the support of others, and an organic approach to loving like Jesus, the power of restoration and community could empower women to rise.
We, the founders of The Esther Network, boldly declare that every woman is created with divine purpose, destined to rise, and called for such a time as this. Rooted in faith, led by compassion, and driven by a holy mandate to restore dignity to the unseen woman, we commit to building a sacred network where women are seen, supported, and strengthened.
We declare that healing and empowerment go hand in hand—that real transformation happens when spiritual truth meets practical support. Through connection, mentorship, and access to trusted resources, we will walk with women in every season, from wilderness to wisdom, from survival to strength.
Like Queen Esther, we will stand with courage, intercede with purpose, and act with grace. Our mission is not just to serve, but to awaken. Not just to provide, but to equip. Not just to gather, but to raise up a generation of women who know who they are, whose they are, and what they were created to do.
This is our call. This is our commitment.
This is The Esther Network.

Stormie Van Patten
Board Vice President
I’m Stormie Van Patten — a wife, mom, and believer who’s passionate about people, purpose, and the power of healing. As a proud Bend local, I’ve spent many years walking alongside individuals in the mental health space, helping them rediscover their worth and unlock their God-given potential.
My heart beats for those who feel unseen or stuck, and I believe everyone carries something beautiful inside them just waiting to be called out. I’m incredibly honored to step into the role of Board Chair for The Esther Network — a place where women are uplifted, empowered, and reminded that they were made for more.
Adrina Polanco
Board Secretary
Adrina Polanco is a passionate, servant-hearted leader, mother of two, with a heart for children, women, and public service. She spent 10 years serving Oregonians throughout the state, helping individuals access vital support during times of unemployment.
She worked closely with the launch of the Caldera Family Organization, a group connected to her children’s high school, during its 2023–2024 startup year, then served as a board member and secretary for the 2024–2025 school year.
Adrina is all about family, loves being in nature, hiking, biking whenever she can and spending time reading. She has also learned the importance of being still, holding close to the scripture, “Be still, and know that I am God.” Transformed by her faith, she is committed to using her story, beauty from ashes, to encourage and uplift the women and families in her community for the glory of God.
Sara Rasmussen
Development Committee Chair
Sara Rasmussen is a strong and resilient mother of five who became a young mom and has worked tirelessly to overcome life’s challenges. With a background as both a medical assistant and a childcare provider, she has devoted her life to caring for others with empathy, purpose, and strength. Her own experiences have fueled a deep passion for helping other women—especially young mothers and struggling families—navigate difficult seasons with dignity and support.
As part of her partnership with The Esther Network, Sara is working to open a mission- driven childcare center in California’s Central Valley that goes beyond traditional care. Her vision includes offering parenting and life-skills classes, collaborating with local organizations, and creating a safe, supportive space where children and families can thrive. She believes in the power of community, compassion, and showing up—especially when it’s hard. Sara’s story is one of perseverance, love, and a commitment to building a better future for those who need it most.
“More than care—community, support, and hope for families.”
Christina Robinson
Board Treasurer
I’m Christina Robinson. I am a proud wife, mother of four grown children, and a dedicated business owner. My heart is especially drawn to women who have experienced abusive relationships, because I was once in that place myself.
Years ago, with two young daughters by my side, I fled to a Safe House in search of protection and hope. At that time, support was often scarce, and more often than not, all I received were kind words. Well-meaning, but not always enough.
Today, I am deeply honored to be a part of The Esther Network, an organization committed to creating real, tangible change for women in crisis. Through compassionate support, resources, and empowerment, we’re helping women rebuild their lives with dignity and strength.
